A fine 18th-century English Delft tile, painted in soft blue tones with a pastoral scene of two goats reclining in a landscape, based on a 17th-century etching by the Dutch artist Nicolaes Berchem.
The composition is skillfully rendered with the characteristic brush shading and delicate linework associated with Liverpool delftware of the mid-18th century.
