About Phil Thomas Antiques

A family-run business with over 35 years’ experience specialising in antique ceramics and decorative works of art.

A Lifetime in Antiques

Phil Thomas Antiques has been dealing in antiques for over 35 years. Over that time, Phil has built a reputation for knowledge, integrity and a highly trained eye for quality — values that remain central to the business today.

Phil spent many years trading professionally at the world-famous Portobello Road Market in London, building a loyal following of collectors who value clear descriptions, honest condition reporting and carefully chosen stock.

Today, the same approach continues online: a curated selection of antique ceramics chosen for authenticity, condition and decorative appeal.

Our Approach

Every piece is selected individually. We prioritise authenticity, honest condition assessment and decorative appeal over volume or trend-driven buying.

Antique ceramics are inherently fragile, and signs of age such as minor chips, glaze wear or firing marks are often entirely consistent with period. Where such features exist, they are clearly described so buyers can make informed decisions.

We are always happy to answer questions and provide additional photographs — whether you are a seasoned collector or buying your first antique ceramic.

Buying with Confidence

Buying antiques online should feel as reassuring as buying in person. We provide clear descriptions, multiple images and transparent condition reporting to help you purchase with confidence.

If you would like extra images, measurements, or a fuller condition overview for any piece, please get in touch — we’re always happy to help.
